Long before he wore a cape, Clark Kent was a farm boy in Smallville, Kansas, wrestling with emerging powers, a crush on Lana Lang, and the terrible knowledge that he crashed to Earth in the same meteor shower that scarred his town. As strange, meteor-warped threats surface week after week, Clark must guard his secret while forging the values that will one day make him a hero. Central to it all is his fraught friendship with Lex Luthor, a brilliant heir slowly bending toward the darkness that will make them enemies. A grounded, coming-of-age reimagining of the Superman myth, it trades spectacle for the ache of a young man learning who he is meant to become.
