Deadpan, razor-tongued and allergic to sentiment, Wednesday Addams is shipped off to Nevermore Academy, a boarding school for outcasts where werewolves, sirens and gorgons pass for classmates. As a string of gruesome killings terrorizes the nearby town, she leans into her budding psychic visions to unmask the monster before it strikes again. Tim Burton's gothic sensibility gives the show its wrought-iron whimsy, balancing macabre horror with sharp comedy and the eternal misery of being sixteen. It's a coming-of-age mystery for anyone who prefers a raven to a rom-com.
