'Collateral Damage' is an Arnold Schwarzenegger action-thriller in which a firefighter, after his wife and son are killed in a terrorist bombing, travels to Colombia to hunt the guerrilla responsible when the authorities fail him. Its release was delayed after the September 11 attacks made its terrorism plot uncomfortably timely. The result is a fairly routine revenge picture, more subdued than Schwarzenegger's peak vehicles and hampered by its awkward context. Modest at the box office and mildly received.
