Ethereal and disconcerting in equal measure, Daryl Hannah first became known as the replicant Pris in 'Blade Runner' and as the mermaid of 'Splash'. Born in Chicago in 1960, she strung together popular 1980s titles such as 'Wall Street' and the ensemble 'Steel Magnolias'. Quentin Tarantino relaunched her career by entrusting her with the lethal Elle Driver, the one-eyed assassin of 'Kill Bill'. With her tall figure and a presence poised between the fragile and the menacing, Hannah proved able to inhabit both romantic fantasy and the iciest villainy.
