In a Los Angeles of 2019 choked by acid rain and neon signs, Rick Deckard, a retired blade runner, is forced back into service to hunt down four escaped replicants, artificial beings all but indistinguishable from humans who have come to Earth in search of more life. His pursuit brings him up against Roy Batty, a rebel leader aware of his expiration date, and the enigmatic Rachael, who makes him question where the human ends and the manufactured begins. Ridley Scott delivers a masterpiece of futuristic film noir, dense and melancholy in atmosphere, that interrogates what it means to be alive.
