An American character actor and singer prized by directors for his weathered gravitas. Michael Parks was a favourite of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, playing Texas Ranger Earl McGraw in 'From Dusk Till Dawn' (1996) and both volumes of 'Kill Bill' (2003, 2004), and the seductive brothel-keeper Esteban Vihaio in the latter. Born in California and working until his death in 2017, he brought a hypnotic, drawling menace to his roles, a cult favourite whose late-career performances in independent film cemented his reputation.
