The Woodsboro killings have become a Hollywood movie, and as production rolls on the third installment of the fictional Stab, the cast and crew start dying in the exact manner of the murders they are dramatizing. Drawn out of hiding, Sidney Prescott returns alongside reporter Gale Weathers and deputy Dewey to face a new Ghostface whose motive reaches back into her own family's buried history. Directed by Wes Craven, this chapter turns its knowing lens on the film industry itself, layering in-jokes and movie-set mayhem over the familiar slasher machinery. A brasher, more comic entry that closes out the original trilogy with tongue firmly in cheek.
