A year after her mother's murder, teenager Sidney Prescott is once again stalked, this time by a masked killer who torments her over the phone and spreads panic among her friends. The criminal, who calls himself Ghostface, turns the rules of horror cinema into a deadly game, quizzing his victims about scary movies before attacking. As the whole town becomes a suspect, Sidney senses that the truth conceals something connected to her mother's death. A metafictional slasher from Wes Craven that reinvented the genre by laughing at its own clichés while still terrifying.
