A fleet of Martian ships descends on the great cities of the planet, and humanity holds its breath before visitors who claim to come in peace. President James Dale, advised by a professor convinced of the aliens' good intentions, prepares an official welcome that ends in a massacre when the hilariously cruel Martians begin exterminating everyone in their path. Among incompetent politicians, naive hippies and ordinary citizens, someone will have to find the invaders' absurd weakness. A science-fiction satire from Tim Burton, a delirious and macabre homage to the flying-saucer cinema of the 1950s, packed with stars and pitch-black humor.
