Astrophysics professor John Koestler, a widower and a skeptic, attends the opening of a time capsule buried half a century earlier at his son's school. Among the children's drawings appears a sheet covered in figures that turn out to be the dates, coordinates and death tolls of every major catastrophe that has occurred since, and some yet to come. Obsessed with deciphering the final numbers, Koestler realizes that his own family is caught in the countdown of an inexorable fate. An apocalyptic thriller by Alex Proyas that mixes paranoid suspense with unsettling cosmic and religious overtones.
