Known for his leading roles on stage and screen, he has received numerous accolades, including three Primetime Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and a nomination for an Academy Award. Brown portrayed Christopher Darden in the FXlimited series The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story (2016), which earned the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie. For his role as Randall Pearson in the NBC drama series This Is Us (2016–2022), he earned the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
