Ava, a cynical orphaned quadriplegic, wakes up in a morgue fully healed and suddenly imbued with strange powers, a halo embedded in her back marking her as the newest champion in an ancient war. She has been chosen, unwillingly, as the Halo-Bearer for the Order of the Cruciform Sword, a secret sisterhood of warrior nuns who hunt the demons that walk unseen among humanity. Reluctant to accept a destiny she never wanted, Ava must decide whether to run from this sacred burden or embrace it against forces reaching to the highest echelons of the Church. Blending supernatural action, conspiracy, and coming-of-age drama, the series follows a reluctant savior learning to fight for something larger than herself.
