Fran Fine, a brash, big-haired cosmetics saleswoman from Queens, talks her way into a job as nanny for the three children of Maxwell Sheffield, a buttoned-up British Broadway producer. Her flashy outfits and nasal wisecracks clash gloriously with his refined Manhattan world, much to the horror of his acid-tongued business partner C.C. and the delight of his droll butler Niles. As Fran wins over the kids and slowly thaws their widowed father, an unlikely will-they-won't-they simmers beneath the sitcom sparkle. Buoyed by Fran Drescher's unmistakable comic voice, the series is a warm, fizzy fish-out-of-water romance about heart triumphing over class.
