Moesha
CreatorSara V. Finney, Ralph Farquhar
Brandy Norwood plays Moesha Mitchell, a high school student in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Leimert Park who lives with her father, her younger brother and a stepmother she is slow to accept. UPN premiered the sitcom in 1996 and ran it for six seasons until 2001, making it one of the young network's signature shows and a fixture of its Black-led comedy line-up. William Allen Young, Countess Vaughn, Marcus T. Paulk and Sheryl Lee Ralph filled out the cast, and the series later produced the spin-off 'The Parkers'.
