Physicist Jason Dessen is abducted at gunpoint one ordinary night and wakes up in a version of his life he never chose — one where his career soared and the family he loves simply doesn't exist. Joel Edgerton plays Jason with quiet desperation as he claws through an ever-branching multiverse to find his way back, while Jennifer Connelly's Daniela anchors the marriage he's fighting to reclaim. Alice Braga and Jimmi Simpson complicate the search as allies whose motives aren't entirely clear, and Dayo Okeniyi rounds out a cast caught in Jason's spiraling choices. Adapted by Blake Crouch from his own novel, it turns quantum theory into a genuinely anguished thriller about the roads not taken.
