In a distant future where human consciousness can be digitized and downloaded into interchangeable bodies called sleeves, death has become negotiable for those rich enough to afford it. Takeshi Kovacs, a former elite soldier resurrected after centuries in cold storage, is hired by one of the immortal ultra-wealthy to solve a seemingly impossible murder: the man's own. His investigation drags him through a neon-drenched, stratified metropolis riddled with corruption, and back into a revolutionary past he has never fully escaped. Adapting Richard K. Morgan's novel, the series fuses hard-boiled noir with cyberpunk spectacle to probe what identity, mortality, and the soul mean when the body is just disposable hardware.
