Rupert Graves

A British actor with a long and varied career, Rupert Graves first drew attention in Merchant Ivory period films such as 'A Room with a View' (1985) and 'Maurice' (1987). Born in Somerset, he moved comfortably between the stage, film and television, later reaching a new audience as the beleaguered Inspector Lestrade in the BBC series 'Sherlock' (2010), a role he reprised in 'Sherlock: The Abominable Bride' (2016). He also featured in 'V for Vendetta' (2006). A quietly versatile performer, he remains a familiar and well-regarded face in British screen drama.
