Mark Gatiss

Writer, actor and unabashed genre obsessive, Mark Gatiss co-founded The League of Gentlemen before helping reinvent a literary icon: with Steven Moffat he co-created 'Sherlock' (2010-2017), casting himself as the imperious Mycroft Holmes. Born in Sedgefield, County Durham, he has written and acted for 'Doctor Who', appeared as banker Tycho Nestoris in 'Game of Thrones' (2014-2017) and played Lord Marlborough in 'The Favourite' (2018), besides co-creating the BBC's 'Dracula' (2020). A historian of horror and champion of the ghost story, Gatiss is British television's great curator of the macabre.
