Young, dreamy and nearly penniless, Willy Wonka arrives in a great European city determined to open the most extraordinary chocolate shop in the world and to change lives one delicious bite at a time. But his ingenuity collides with a cartel of greedy chocolatiers ready to do anything to block his rise, and with a cheating innkeeper who traps him in a servitude of debt. With the help of a group of fellow unfortunates and a small, sarcastic Oompa Loompa, Wonka will try to make his impossible dream come true. A luminous, fantastical musical that imagines the origins of Roald Dahl's famous character with charm, humor and spectacle.
