Superman, a reporter at the Daily Planet in Metropolis, tries to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with the human upbringing that shaped him as Clark Kent. When his intervention in an international conflict makes him a target of public opinion, the magnate Lex Luthor seizes the chance to turn the world against the hero and unleash threats designed to destroy him. Surrounded by allies such as Lois Lane and other metahumans, the Man of Steel must prove that goodness remains a viable choice. James Gunn's reboot bets on a hopeful, colorful and deeply human Superman set against a cynical world.
