Juno MacGuff is a sixteen-year-old, sharp-tongued and independent, who becomes pregnant after a first sexual experience with her friend Paulie. Ruling out an abortion, she decides to carry the pregnancy to term and give the baby up for adoption to a well-off couple she finds in the newspaper classifieds. Over the nine months, Juno grapples with the gaze of high school, her family's reaction and her own feelings for Paulie. An independent comedy-drama of razor-sharp dialogue and disarming tenderness that made Ellen Page a revelation and won the Oscar for best screenplay.
