The Avengers have spent years protecting the world from ever-greater threats, but none comes close to the one now emerging from the shadows of the cosmos: Thanos. This titan seeks to gather the six Infinity Stones so that, with a snap of his fingers, he can erase half of all living beings and thus, by his twisted logic, save the universe from itself. Heroes of Earth and space unite on desperate fronts to stop him before he completes the gauntlet. The Russo brothers craft a sprawling superproduction of colossal scale and surprisingly somber tone, where for once the villain holds the initiative and the price of failure is devastating.
