Across changing tastes and formats, François Négret has stayed a French actor with the unglamorous consistency that long careers are made of. He appears in 'Mauvais Sang' too. The career opened quietly, the way most long ones do. He has worked in drama more often than in any other register. 35 appearances between the two screens is the plain arithmetic of it. For much of the audience, François Négret is Joseph from 'Au Revoir les Enfants', whatever else the credits say.
