20世纪末，一种神秘病毒在世界蔓延，感染者莫不血尽身亡。热爱摇滚乐的远藤贤知经历过叛逆时期，如今年奔三十的他窝在家乡大阪经营一家连锁超市，上层负责人责骂，母亲聒噪，姐姐的孩子神乃哭泣，贤知小心应付，手忙脚乱。在小学同学聚会上，贤知重逢当年好友义常、青蛙仔、丸夫、福平、阿门等人。从他们口中得知，如今社会上正时兴一个神秘的宗教组织，组织领袖自称“朋友”，而近期发生的一些列恐怖事件皆来自贤知众人童年时杜撰的一本“预言之书”。
