Wu Ma was a Chinese-born Hong Kong actor and director active from the 1960s to the 2010s, and one of the great character faces of Hong Kong genre cinema. He built a prolific career as a supporting player and second-unit director at Shaw Brothers and later Golden Harvest, working alongside King Hu, Chang Cheh and Sammo Hung. He became beloved for the Taoist priest of Ching Siu-tung A Chinese Ghost Story (1987) and appeared in classics such as Mr. Vampire (1985) and Peking Opera Blues (1986). Warm, wry and grounded, he remained a familiar face in Hong Kong cinema until his death in 2014.

Wu Ma (Chinese: 午馬, 22 September 1942 – 4 February 2014) was a Chinese actor, director, producer and writer. Wu Ma made his screen debut in 1963, and with over 300 appearances to his name (plus over 40 directorial credits within a twenty-five year period), Wu Ma was one of the most familiar faces in the history of Hong Kong Cinema. He was best known as the Taoist ghosthunter in A Chinese Ghost Story.
