Tim Roth

Emerging from the British independent film scene, Tim Roth became indispensable to Quentin Tarantino, who directed him as Mr. Orange in 'Reservoir Dogs' and as the robber Pumpkin in 'Pulp Fiction'. Born in London in 1961, this performer of feverish intensity had first stood out in social dramas of Thatcherite England and went on to direct the raw 'The War Zone'. His performance in 'Rob Roy' earned him an Oscar nomination, and he later reached a wide audience as the deceit-detecting Doctor Lightman in the series 'Lie to Me' and as the Abomination in the Marvel universe. Roth is distinguished by a contained dangerousness and a nervous precision that make even his smallest characters unsettling.
