Seu Jorge
Known for
A samba star before he was a screen presence, Seu Jorge grew up in the favelas outside Rio de Janeiro and turned that experience into two careers. International audiences met him as Knockout Ned in 'City of God' (2002), and Wes Anderson made him a cult figure with his Portuguese-language David Bowie covers in 'The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou' (2004). He returned to Brazilian crime drama in 'Elite Squad: The Enemy Within' (2010) and played the revolutionary lead in 'Marighella' (2021).
