Animals around the world begin turning on humans in coordinated, increasingly lethal attacks, and nobody can explain why until a disgraced zoologist, played by James Wolk, starts connecting patterns that governments would rather ignore. He's pulled into an international investigation alongside a journalist and a veterinarian, played by Nonso Anozie and Kristen Connolly, while a CIA operative played by Billy Burke works his own angle on the cover-up. The premise leans pulpy by design, treating its animal-uprising conceit less as hard science than as a springboard for globe-trotting conspiracy thriller plotting. CBS's summer genre gamble found a devoted audience for that combination of B-movie hook and soapy urgency.
