Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan mine a real Westfield, New Jersey haunting-by-mail case for this seven-episode nightmare about the Brannock family, played by Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale, whose dream house comes with an anonymous stalker obsessed with the property's 'young blood.' As the threatening letters escalate, suspicion spreads to nearly everyone on the block, including a scene-stealing Jennifer Coolidge as a real-estate agent with her own agenda. Murphy's trademark maximalism turns suburban paranoia into something closer to farce at times, but the unresolved mystery at its core — still unsolved in real life — keeps the dread genuinely unsettling. It's less whodunit than portrait of a neighborhood eating itself alive.
