When a plane lands at JFK with everyone aboard mysteriously dead, CDC epidemiologist Dr. Ephraim Goodweather is called in to contain what looks like a viral outbreak, only to discover an ancient, parasitic strain of vampirism spreading through New York. As the infection races through the city, transforming victims into ravenous, worm-borne monsters, Eph and a ragtag band of survivors, including an aging Holocaust survivor who has faced this evil before, mount a desperate resistance. Created by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan from their novels, the series reimagines the vampire myth as a biological plague and a slow-burning apocalypse. Equal parts outbreak thriller and body horror, it charts humanity's fight against extinction as the darkness tightens its grip.
