Over several decades, 4,400 people vanished without explanation — and now they've all returned at once, dropped back into the world in a single unexplained flash of light, not a day older than when they disappeared. Federal agents Tom Baldwin and Diana Skouris are tasked with figuring out what happened to them, only to discover that many have come back with abilities no government can safely contain, from telekinesis to a touch that heals. As paranoia spreads and one returnee's murder triggers a citywide crackdown, 'The 4400' uses its abductees as a lens on fear of the unknown and the cost of being different. Jacqueline McKenzie and Joel Gretsch anchor a mystery that only deepens with each season.
