Tom Riley plays Leonardo with restless, borderline-manic energy, chasing prophecy and forbidden knowledge through a Florence thick with Medici intrigue, opposite Laura Haddock and Elliot Cowan as the power players circling him. The show leans hard into speculative fiction, treating history as raw material for conspiracy and myth rather than a biography to be honored. It's less interested in accuracy than in the thrilling idea of genius as a young man's dangerous gift.
