Dan Turner takes a job restoring water-damaged videotapes for a mysterious archive and realizes the footage he's piecing together, shot by a documentarian who vanished investigating a building's dark history, is pulling him toward the cult that swallowed her. Mamoudou Athie plays Dan with the quiet unease of someone realizing too late how far into the mystery he's gone, opposite Dina Shihabi as Melody, the missing filmmaker glimpsed only through his restored tapes. Martin Donovan's shadowy benefactor Virgil adds another layer of institutional menace. Blending found-footage horror with slow-burn conspiracy, 'Archive 81' builds dread out of static, timelines, and the intimacy of someone else's last recorded days.
