Rinsaku Ogata is one of those actors whose face registers well before the name, the kind of performer a scene gets handed to when it needs holding together. 'Mothra vs. Godzilla' adds a second point of recognition. Since 1953, the hiring has not stopped for long. Casting has kept him in work for 73 years. Nothing else in the filmography has the visibility of 'Yojimbo', with Seibei Follower as the role.

Frequent supporting player in Toho films beginning in the 50s. Ogata’s stern features lent him to background roles as military officers and personnel in several of Toho’s sci-fi films.
