Em uma pequena e conservadora cidade da Nova Inglaterra, Alexandra Medford (Cher), Jane Spofford (Susan Sarandon) e Sukie Ridgemont (Michelle Pfeiffer), entediadas com a vida que levam, se reúnem todas as quintas-feiras para tomarem drinques e conversarem sobre vários assuntos.
