Kurt Wimmer's 'Ultraviolet' is a heavily stylized sci-fi actioner starring Milla Jovovich as a genetically enhanced warrior in a future where a virus has created a persecuted class of superhuman 'hemophages'. She protects a boy who may hold the key to their survival while slicing through armies of soldiers. Awash in glossy, weightless CGI and incoherent plotting, it prioritizes comic-book visuals over sense. Critically panned and a box-office flop, it's remembered, if at all, as a garish, empty style exercise.
