Francis Ford Coppola directed 'The Rainmaker', a satisfying John Grisham legal drama with Matt Damon as an idealistic rookie lawyer taking on a corrupt insurance company that denied a dying young man's claim. Danny DeVito co-stars as his shady paralegal partner, and Jon Voight is the slick opposing counsel. More grounded and character-driven than the typical Grisham thriller, it is elevated by Coppola's steady hand and Damon's earnest charm. Often cited as one of the better Grisham adaptations.
