Ted, the teddy bear who came to life, marries his girlfriend Tami-Lynn and the two decide to start a family by adopting a baby. The trouble is that, in order to be a father, Ted must prove before a court that he is legally a person and not a mere object. With the help of his inseparable friend John and a rookie young lawyer, the little bear embarks on a preposterous legal battle for his rights that takes them from convention to convention amid joints and mayhem. A sequel to Seth MacFarlane's rowdy comedy, as irreverent and politically incorrect as the first.
