After centuries serving as Dracula's slave, errand-runner and insect-eater, Renfield is fed up with propping up a narcissistic master who only uses and despises him. When he meets Rebecca Quincy, a New Orleans traffic cop as tenacious as she is hot-tempered who stands up to the organized crime corroding the city, he begins to dream of a life of his own and perhaps of redemption. The problem is that breaking up with an immortal, bloodthirsty master is no easy task. With Nicolas Cage as an unhinged Dracula and heavy doses of comic gore, the film delivers a hyperbolic horror comedy about toxic relationships and self-esteem.
