A group of ambitious medical students, obsessed with finding out what lies beyond death, launch a clandestine and reckless experiment: stopping their own hearts for a few minutes to induce near-death experiences and then reviving themselves. At first the visions produce an addictive euphoria, but they soon discover that they have brought something back from the other side, and that their buried guilt and sins return to torment them. The more they toy with the boundary of life, the more dangerous the price becomes. A horror thriller in medical wrapping about guilt and the arrogance of defying death.
