When a rock star is found brutally stabbed, the trail leads to Catherine Tramell, a brilliant, coolly seductive novelist whose latest book describes the murder in eerie detail. The detective assigned to the case is drawn into a dangerous game of desire and manipulation with his prime suspect, unable to tell whether he is the hunter or the prey. Paul Verhoeven crafts a sleek, provocative erotic thriller that scandalized audiences and made Sharon Stone a star, wrapping its noir mystery in ice-cold glamour and an ending that refuses to release its grip.
