A thriller built on a chilling premise: anesthesia awareness, in which a patient remains conscious but paralyzed during surgery. Hayden Christensen plays a wealthy young man who, during a heart transplant, is fully aware of everything, including a murderous conspiracy unfolding on the operating table. Jessica Alba and Terrence Howard co-star. Directed by Joby Harold, its clever hook gives way to a far-fetched, poorly reviewed plot. A middling thriller with one memorably unnerving idea.
