In the midst of the First World War, two young British soldiers are given a seemingly impossible mission: to cross no man's land and enemy lines to deliver, in time, an order that will keep an entire battalion, among whose men is the brother of one of them, from falling into a deadly trap. Every minute counts and every meter hides a danger. Sam Mendes conceives the story as a seemingly continuous take that immerses the viewer in the trench alongside the protagonists, without respite. A war odyssey of sustained tension and breathtaking beauty, as intimate as it is monumental.
