Known for
Time and sheer volume of work have made Ingrid Pitt a veteran actress who arrived well before the current crop and stayed. Ask a viewer to place Ingrid Pitt and the answer usually comes back 'The Wicker Man'. 'Where Eagles Dare' is a second title with real reach. She has worked in horror more often than in any other register. Work has kept arriving for 61 years, which is its own kind of achievement.
