He is widely remembered as the loyal disciple in Sammo Hung's cult hit Mr. Vampire (1985) and its sequels. He held his own opposite Jet Li in Fist of Legend (1994), and returned decades later in the affectionate throwback Rigor Mortis (2013), directed by Juno Mak.
