Ayo Edebiri
Actress · Writer · TV star
Ayo Edebiri went from writing for comedy shows to becoming one of television's defining new performers as Sydney, the ambitious young chef of 'The Bear' (2022), a role that won her an Emmy and a Golden Globe. Born in Boston in 1995 to Nigerian and Barbadian parents, she sharpened her voice in stand-up before co-leading the anarchic high-school comedy 'Bottoms' (2023) and voicing April O'Neil in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem' (2023) and Envy in 'Inside Out 2' (2024). Deadpan wit layered over visible anxiety has become her unmistakable comic register.
