由于超级战士的活跃，宇宙被和平合并了数百年。地球也加入了银河联邦，其科学能力也取得了飞跃性的进步。正在北银河巡逻的超级战士们在破坏宇宙的同时发现了接近地球的巨大红色彗星“twithon”。那个彗星的原形到底是什么呢？《奥特曼超斗士激传》讲述了变形后的奥特系列角色身穿被称为金属布雷斯特的铠甲，展开战斗的故事。以万代发售的玩具为首，在《Comic Bombon》（讲谈社）中展开了漫画等，进行了媒体混合。本作品是作为展开的一环而制作的OVA作品。
