在一片郁郁葱葱的丛林之中，一个名叫劳娜（莱斯利•安•瓦伦扎 Leslie Ann Valenza 饰）的女人正在拼命地寻找她的妹妹尼基（泰瑞•杰尼甘 Terry Jernigan 饰）。此前，尼基因为来到哈尔肯度假胜地旅游而失踪。本来尼基跟姐姐劳娜说，只是在山上小镇上野营，但是劳娜却从此失去了关于她的消息。为此，劳娜深感愧疚自责，决心独自去寻找妹妹。人生地不熟的劳娜结识了那里的土著——一个有案底的神秘男人（迪基•派瑞DJ Perry 饰）。在他的帮助下，劳娜逐渐逼近了一个名叫哈尔肯岩的废弃监狱。似乎所有的线索都指向这里，但是劳娜同时感受到一种莫名的恐惧。特别是在她进入钢筋水泥砌成的高墙后，她和神秘男人见证了一个匪夷所思的奇景。一个沉睡多年的远古魔咒正在显灵，而尼基的离奇失踪就是这黑暗瘟疫降临的前兆……
