故事和原作游戏不同。大致上是根据原作的“Summer”篇和“Air”篇改编而成。 故事讲述身患怪病的主角神尾观铃最后一个夏季的故事。 为了完成暑期的自由研究作业而接触到“翼人传说”，继而邂逅生命中最重要的人——国崎往人而发展下去。 最终观铃还是走完了她的生命，达到终点。 故事的重心由原作的“亲情”转化了成为观铃和往人的爱情故事。
