Tommy Rettig reached veteran standing the slow way, as an American actor with credits spread across cinema, television and everything between. 9 was the age at the first credit. Work has kept arriving for 76 years, which is its own kind of achievement. 'River of No Return' remains the reference point, thanks largely to Mark Calder. 'The Egyptian' is another title that gets mentioned.
